Wakefield Park is a large park that includes a spacious and popular recreation center, Audrey Moore RECenter. All athletic fields at the park are lit; including Little League fields, softball, soccer/football, basketball fields and tennis courts. There are also walking trails.
The Audrey Moore RECenter offers and array of classes and other amenities such as a pool, a sauna, fitness rooms, a gymnasium, and more. Check the website or call for more details.
Wakefield Park also houses a farmer's market.
A local wildlife refuge and home to native birds, this park offers miles of nature trails, fishing ponds, a skating ramp for skateboarders, picnic tables, public BBQ grills and several playing fields.
Lake Fairfax Park, operated by Fairfax County, is a bucolic, 476-acre setting located in Reston. Some of the park's features include trails, a campground, a carousel, an 18-acre lake with boats for rent, and many picnic and play areas.
The park is also home to the Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole - a water park that offers slides, wading pools and other water activities for the whole family.
Park admission is free, but the Water Mine, carousel and boat rentals have entry fees.
There are numerous soccer and lacrosse fields, so the park is a busy spot for sports teams on weekends.
