Lorimer Park consists of more than 230 acres of woods and wildlife. The park is also home to the historic Council Rock, which folklore says hosted the meetings of Native Americans. Lorimer Park is available for a variety of outdoor activities, including horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, picnicking, sledding, cross-country skiing and fishing.

Home to the stunning Holiday Luminaria in mid-December and the boisterous Canal Day in June, Schuylkill Canal Park offers history woven with entertainment and nature. Constructed in 1846, the lock reopened in 2005. Canoers and kayakers can paddle a five-mile loop in Port Providence, and walking trails abound on the site.
