Coop's Bait and Tackle's store is wall-to-wall fishing equipment, supplies and gear. There are rods, reels, lures, buckets, nets, hooks, flies, live and fresh-frozen bait, clamming gear and specialty items such as Shimano fishing sandals and Orvis Fly Fishing Equipment. It also sells t-shirts and hats for men, women and children. Guided boat and shore trips are also available. Coop's offers fishing rods for sale and for rent, too.
OceanQuest began as an educational field trip experience for students, teachers and the public in 1992. It has now expanded its programming to include classroom presentations, curriculum materials and teacher workshops. The at-sea component uses Coast Guard-certified vessels and includes basic oceanography. Outside of the regularly scheduled hours the vessels may be used for private charters, research and organization functions.
This is the place for natural water sports -- kayaks, wind surfing boards, sail boats, canoes, and boogie boards are rented here. Instruction also is provided. You also can buy the appropriate gear so you will look the part of an East Coast surfer dude.
The Liberte Schooner docks at the mouth of the Falmouth Harbor next to The Clam Shack. This 74-foot sailing vessel can accommdate 49 guest, has a full bar, offers catering, and music. It is available for private charters, weddings, and corporate outings. The Liberte is docked in Falmouth during July and August only. During these months, it offers daily cruises starting around $20 per person.
