Trader Joe's in Davis is a newly opened, 12,000 square foot specialty grocery store. It has a large inexpensive wine selection, produce/meat section with all pre-packaged goods and many products under the Trader Joe's label. The store itself is welcoming and very clean, with laid back, helpful sales associates and usually someone on hand giving out tasty samples. Trader Joe's in Davis was a long time in coming and is proving to be a very popular location for grocery shoppers.
Aggie Liquor & Deli is a liquor store that carries wines, beers and hard alcohol. There is pale ale, kegs, Corona, Bud Light, Budweiser, Keystone and hard alcohol such as Jack Daniels, Crown Royal and different vodkas. There also other beverages available such as sport drinks, energy drinks, coffee, sodas, juices, and ice bags are also sold. There is also candy, gum, over-the-counter medicine, California lottery and household cleaning supplies for sale.
Tucos Wine Market and Cafe is a little gem tucked away on the corner of First and G streets. Located across from the much larger corporate Fuzio Universal Bistro, there couldn't be a more glaring antithesis in style, food and service; Tucos offers a seasonal, house-made international menu, with an emphasis on organic, free range, all-natural and heirloom products. Its atmosphere is quaint and elegant, but at the same time accessible, with astutely friendly service. The restaurant serves flights of wine, with 24 wines by the glass to choose from, as well as a selection of wines by the bottle. In addition to the menu, Tucos has retail wine available, does catering and special orders for food as well.
