Jeff Roux and Shawn O'Brien have owned Excel fitness for four years. Excel provides personal training, fitness assessment and massage. Its equipment includes strength machines, elliptical machines, free weights, bicycles, stair masters and treadmills. Excel also has classes in yoga, body sculpting, Pilates and weight loss. It is heavily involved in charitible organizations such as the West Hartford Food Pantry, Breast Cancer Drives, local school supply drives and Big Brother and Sister.

A members-only golf club, Madison Country Club course was built in 1909. Adjacent to salt and fresh water marshes, the 18-hole course features ponds, streams and a location close to Long Island Sound and the Madison town center. A detailed history of the course, hole by hole, was written by long-time member and club champion Bill Whedon and is available on the club's website. Frank Carta is the head professional. The course was built by golf course designer and professional golfer Willie Park, Jr.
Seven Stars is lead by master black-belt instructor Maureen Santos. She is certified in Tang Soo Do and Kempo karate. She has been teaching since 1983 and offers classes to all ages. Classes are held in the afternoon and evenings. Located off of Dillingham Avenue behind Citizens Bank.
The Eastern Connecticut Ballet was founded as a non-profit in 1992 with the mission of developing a professional performing arts center that would provide high quality instruction to area youth. It is a serious ballet that seeks to rigorously prepare dancers for professional performance. To achieve this lofty goal, expert instructors guide young learners through a series of programs beginning with a young children's program open to those 3 to 8 years old and advancing through a seven-level pre-professional curriculum.
