The Hattie Weber Museum is a very historical site, originally named after the first paid librarian in Davis, Harriet "Hattie" Elisha Weber. Hattie Weber first became a Davis librarian in 1910 and retired in 1953.

The museum itself is a small building, only open for limited hours two days a week. On display are many exhibits that showcase the history and development of the city of Davis.

It should be noted that school tours may be scheduled as well as reservations for the entire site.

Previously situated in Somerville, New Jersey, this museum packed up and moved west to Davis on the strength of Davis's reputation as a bike-friendly town -- Davis was one of the first cities in the U.S. to add designated bicyle lanes to roadways in the late 1960s. The fact that Davis hosts major bicycle races such as the Amgen Tour of California and the Fourth of July Criterium also attracted the museum's board of directors.

The museum features one of the most comprehensive collections of bicycles in the world, including the UC Davis Pierce Miller Collection of antique bicycles. The museum also houses memorabilia and exhibits related to the more than 120 top bicycling athletes from around the world who have been inducted into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame.

The museum occupies the building that formerly housed the Davis Teen Center.
